2025 Christian Events: Join Us in Prayer and Action

Join us daily starting on 07-Feb-2025 (9:00 PM EST) / 6:30 AM IST for a significant initiative organized by the International Christian Rescue Mission. 

* All we ask is for you to pray with us for just 30 minutes from the convenience of your home via Zoom.  

* Fasting is completely up to you; you can opt for Daniel Fasting, fast for one meal a day, engage in half-day fasting, or choose to fast for one or a few days a week as the Lord leads you. If you're unable to fast for any reason, that's OK too; we encourage you to stand in solidarity through prayer for our fellow brothers and sisters around the world. 

You can also pray at any time during the day that suits you, apart from the set 30 minutes. 

ICRM's *100 Days of Fasting & Prayer for Persecuted Christians* begins soon, providing a crucial platform for all Christian events in 2025, focusing on prayer for persecuted Christians. 

In 2025, persecution against Christians is at an all-time high, with 365 million individuals facing severe hostility. Many are killed for their faith, and churches are being destroyed. Despite such oppression, persecuted Christians remain steadfast, inspiring us to kneel in solidarity and fortify our faith. 

Persecution encompasses a broad range of injustices, including restrictions, pressure, discrimination, and violence. 

Every month, 322 Christians are killed for their faith in Lord Jesus Christ. About 365 million Christians worldwide are subjected to high levels of persecution and discrimination. 

Each month, 214 Christian churches and properties are destroyed, totaling 14,766 attacked or destroyed over the years. Of those, 4,998 Christians were killed for faith-related reasons, with 90% occurring in Nigeria. India ranks #11 among the 50 countries where Christians face extreme persecution.

The 21 individuals, including 20 Egyptian Coptic migrant laborers and one Ghanaian, were tragically beheaded for their faith while kneeling in orange jumpsuits on a beach in Sirte, Libya. Their final words echoed a heartfelt prayer: “My Lord Jesus Christ.” In October 2017, the bodies of these martyrs were discovered in a mass grave in Libya, along with their orange jumpsuits. DNA testing confirmed their identities, leading to the return of the 20 Copts to their home village of al-Our, Minya, located about 250km south of Cairo, in 2018. They were honored with a special shrine constructed by the Egyptian State and the Coptic Church in 2018. In light of the upcoming Christian events in 2025, the Coptic Church emphasized the importance of remembrance and advocacy, particularly through initiatives like the International Christian Rescue Mission. The Ghanaian martyr's body, which had gone unclaimed, was requested by the Coptic Church from the Libyan government, responding to the call for a prayer for persecuted Christians from the congregation. The Church promised to ensure the body would be handed over to any appropriate claimant through official channels. Ultimately, the body was transported to Egypt in 2020 and is now interred in the shrine dedicated to the 21 martyrs.
